Hayden Falls: a direct waterfall stop
Hayden Falls Nature Preserve is operated by Columbus Recreation and Parks. The address is 4325 Hayden Run Road, between Dublin Road and Riverside Drive. The city warns that the small parking lot is marked “Griggs Nature Preserve,” so the roadside sign will not match the destination name.
The lower view is not step-free. The city describes “lots of steps” followed by a boardwalk. A separate accessible overlook sits above the waterfall, so use that view if stairs are a barrier. The preserve is open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The city also says not to climb the falls because protected plant species grow on the cliff face.
The official page does not publish a trail distance or promise parking availability.
Indian Run Falls: boardwalks through a compact ravine
Indian Run Falls is a City of Dublin park at 700 Shawan Falls Drive. Dublin’s published park inventory describes a gravel path, boardwalks, viewing decks, benches, picnic tables, and two small shelters. It does not give a current trail distance, so follow the posted paths instead of a mileage-based route.
Dublin says its parks are generally open dawn to dusk, unless posted otherwise. The city requires leashed pets to remain under their owner’s control. Because the detailed Indian Run inventory is an older planning document, follow signs at the park when they differ from the inventory.
Millikin Falls: waterfall and quarry views
Millikin Falls is inside Quarry Trails Metro Park, but the park has three entrances. For the waterfall, Metro Parks gives 2158 Old Dublin Road as the Waterfall Entrance. The main northern entrance and lake entrance lead to other parts of the 182-acre park.
Metro Parks lists the Millikin Falls Trail as 0.6 miles, easy, paved, and open to hikers and pets. It also plainly notes steep steps at the start. The trail climbs to an overlook of the 25-foot waterfall and ends at the Truss Bridge over the Scioto River. Quarry Trails is open year-round from 6:30 a.m. to dark.
Pets may use Quarry Trails’ trails on a leash no longer than six feet. The steep steps make this a poor substitute for an accessible route.
